What We Have DoneIn an effort to reduce the cost of providing clean water to an irreducible minimum, Lifeline has since identified and purchased a highly portable rig, specially designed for water well drilling. The rig, which is manufactured by a small company based in Alabama, costs less than one tenth the price of the much larger rigs used by most international relief agencies, and is enabling Lifeline to produce wells in Northern Uganda at a cost of as little as $1,500 per hole—again about one fifth the amount that most international agencies budget for that task. |
