Advocacy ProgramIn addition to its operational programs, Lifeline has devoted considerable resources to fact-finding missions that are designed to shine a spotlight on humanitarian crises requiring urgent action and to develop policy recommendations for resolving them. By increasing public awareness and helping to focus international attention on these crises, Lifeline can help generate resources for relief efforts that vastly exceed the small investment that its advocacy efforts require. Lifeline has conducted all such efforts in artnership with Refugees International—a non-profit organization that has for the past quarter of a century has served as the world’s leading advocate for the rights of refugees and other displaced persons. These collaborative efforts have led to joint reports addressing humanitarian crises in Liberia, Burma, North Korea and Sudan—all of which can be accessed at: www.refugeesinternational.org. |
